Job summary

bioMérieux Field Systems Engineer is responsible for servicing customers across geographic regions, often traveling overnight. The role emphasizes strong technical execution, customer relationship building, and collaboration with sales and applications teams to expand service offerings.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 2+ years in troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• 2+ years troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Build trust with customers and promote service agreements.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO within first year.
• Travel for customer visits, including overnight stays as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete work orders and QA checklists accurately and on time.
• Maintain travel calendar and submit expense reports regularly.
• Manage fleet, inventory, and equipment per policy.
• Collaborate with sales and applications teams to improve customer experience.
