Job summary

BioMerieux Inc. seeks a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across the assigned territory and nationally, often traveling overnight. The role requires self-motivation, strong problem solving, and the ability to work remotely with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of instruments, building relationships with customers, promoting service agreements, and supporting cross-functional teams to drive service revenue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• 2+ years of related experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Build trust with customers and promote service agreements.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO within the first year.
• Travel for customer visits with overnight stays as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date calendar and submit travel expense reports.
• Follow company policies for fleet vehicle upkeep.
• Manage spare parts inventory and equipment in good condition.
• Collaborate with sales and applications teams to enhance customer experience.
• Support trade shows and provide feedback to sales/marketing.
