Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Field Support Technician to deliver remote and on‑site IT support for ANG modernized infrastructure across CONUS. This remote position requires travel of more than 50% and may involve occasional remote work.

The role focuses on installation, integration, and sustainment of IT systems, with collaboration among systems engineers, cybersecurity, and logistics teams to ensure compliant deployments and operational readiness.

Qualifications

DoD 8140 Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, CySA+, CND).
Experience with enterprise hardware platforms and common networking technologies.
Ability to interpret engineering documentation, technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation procedures.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to support technical and non‑technical users.
Ability to lift equipment (up to 50 pounds), work in equipment rooms, and perform physical installation activities.
Ability to travel more than 50% in support of nationwide deployment activities.

Responsibilities

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment at customer sites.
Performs maintenance and technical support on hardware, systems, and software.
Troubleshoots malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Installs, upgrades and removes products per site needs.
Provides on‑site end‑user training on operation and maintenance.
Travels to customer sites to perform field technician duties.
Tests and trains customers on system functionality and services.
Collaborates with developers/engineers to reduce recurring issues.
Reviews configurations to ensure successful production deployment.
