Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Services Technician - Tier I to deliver on-site installation services for residential customers. You’ll be the face of Socket from start to finish, using a company vehicle to complete installs with professionalism.

You will install and configure customer equipment, work outdoors in varying weather, and participate in on-call rotations including nights and weekends. A High School diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work in both underground and aerial environments (ladders up to 32ft, bucket truck).
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to operate a bucket truck up to 300 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers.
• Install and configure customer equipment including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience with professionalism and knowledge during service visits.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling per codes and standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment per safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket in the field.
