Job summary

Socket Fiber seeks a Field Services Technician - Tier I to perform on-site residential installations, configuring customer equipment and ensuring a seamless experience. You will drive a company vehicle across service areas, following safety protocols and using a ticketing system to manage daily installs.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Relevant experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and heights.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and operate a bucket truck within weight limits.
• Flexible schedule including Saturdays and/or Sundays, and willingness to obtain a Class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent residential installations and repairs.
• Install and configure customer equipment (routers, modems, Wi‑Fi gateways).
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience with professionalism.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling per applicable codes.
• Document service activities accurately and timely.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment in line with safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket in the field.
