Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Service Technician II to perform onsite residential installations and repairs. You will install and configure customer equipment, including routers and Wi‑Fi gateways, and ensure a seamless customer experience across service visits.

The role involves travel to service areas, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and operating bucket trucks while adhering to safety protocols. A valid driver’s license and weekend/holiday availability are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, or utility work.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers.
• Install and configure customer equipment including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Deliver exceptional customer experience by being professional, friendly, and knowledgeable during service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling in compliance with codes and standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment in accordance with safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket Fiber in the field.
