Job summary

FORERUNNER TECHNOLOGIES INC is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose and solve problems across a range of phone systems and data equipment. The role involves installations, configurations, and maintenance with little supervision, ensuring customer equipment is configured to meet needs.

Daily travel is required, with some overnight travel possible and on-call after hours. You will work with telecom hardware, software, and testing procedures, coordinating with customers and internal teams

Qualifications

• IT background a plus.
• Performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Key and PABX phone systems.
• Performs installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Voicemail and Call Center products.
• Tests and turns up phone lines, PRI, voice/Data T-1, trunks, and integrated circuits.
• Troubleshoots telephone system hardware/software, voicemail, and telephone sets on site and remotely.
• Installs cables and testing equipment.
• Studies equipment requirements, documents, orders parts, completes installation and acceptance tests.
• Maintains rapport with customers, provides technical support, and recommends improvements.
• Supports TAC and other departments with corrective actions to trouble tickets.
• Identifies demarc, performs pretests, and assists with hosted IP-PBX/test turnups at customer premises.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Key and PABX phone systems on site and remotely.
• Configure voicemail and call center products to customer needs.
• Test lines, PRI, voice and data services, and perform acceptance tests.
• Coordinate with TAC and other departments to resolve issues.
• Ensure equipment is configured and turned up according to customer requirements.
