Job summary

BearCom is hiring a Field Service Technician II in Pittsburgh, PA to install and support wireless communications systems. You will work on UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, DAS/BDA, dispatch consoles, and CCTV gear, delivering reliable service and customer-focused solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of field service experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment, with RF theory knowledge and schematics interpretation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, and NIC programming; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Install and service Wireless Communications Equipment (e.g., UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS Systems, Microwave, CCTV).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Recommend appropriate equipment meeting customer requirements and provide on-site support.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
