Job summary

BearCom in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring a Field Service Technician II to install and service wireless communications systems. You will create codeplugs, install equipment, and recommend solutions to meet customer needs. Travel and on-call hours may be required.

The role demands RF expertise, ability to read schematics, and proficiency with MS Office; a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in 2-way radio field.
• Strong knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ Channels, Trunking, Multiple Zones).
• Install and Service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, Dispatch Consoles, DAS/BDA, Microwave, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements.
• Some regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
