Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems across customer sites. You’ll be hands-on with UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz gear, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA systems, and related equipment, delivering high‑quality service.

The role involves mid-level programming, customer-focused problem solving, and occasional travel. Strong RF knowledge and testing skills are essential, with on‑the‑job training provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel) and test equipment.
• Security clearance preferred; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS, microwave, CCTV).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Recommend equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Occasional regional/overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
