Job summary

BearCom is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems, with a focus on customer service and technical problem solving. You will work on UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, DAS/BDA, CCTV systems and be responsible for on-site service and programming tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the field, strong RF knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office; travel and on-call hours may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in 2-way radio/ wireless fields.
• Extensive knowledge of 2-way radio theory and RF propagation across frequency bands.
• Ability to interpretar schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and network fundamentals; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones).
• Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, CCTV).
• Recommend equipment and hardware meeting customer requirements.
• Occasional regional or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required.
