Job summary

BearCom is seeking a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless communications systems across customers. You will handle radio hardware such as UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA, CCTV, and related devices.

The role requires 5+ years of service experience, a solid electronics background, and the ability to interpret schematics and perform diagnostics. Travel, on-call shifts, and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless/communication field.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands and communications systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, and duplexers; TCP/IP principles and NIC programming.
• CET Certification a plus; Journeyman level within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Install and service wireless communications equipment (e.g., UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, DAS/BDA systems, CCTV).
• Create mid-level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones) and configure equipment.
• Recommend appropriate equipment and hardware that meets customer requirements.
• Travel regionally and/or overnight; provide on-call support as required.
