Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, install, and repair Trace and X-Ray equipment at customer sites in the Raleigh–Durham area. The role requires travel to airport locations and surrounding sites, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Three+ years of field service experience and an Associate’s degree or related trade certification are required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
• Associates degree or trade certification with related electrical/mechanical training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, services, installs and repairs Trace and X-Ray equipment at customer sites.
• Maintains field service logs and paperwork and meets deadlines.
• Responds to emergency and non-scheduled service calls.
• Travels to Raleigh-Durham area including the airport.
• Supports service sales opportunities and helps train customers.
