Job summary

Smiths Detection, part of Smiths Group, seeks a Field Service Technician to travel daily to locations around the Cleveland Metro area, including the airport. You will troubleshoot, service, deploy, and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.

You will maintain service logs, communicate effectively with customers, and ensure high satisfaction. Strong technical knowledge and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or related trade certification; military training acceptable
• Minimum 3 years troubleshooting and field repair of electrical/electronic systems
• Excellent communications skills and a strong customer-focused, team mindset

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, services, installs (deploys) and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites
• Maintains field service log and filing system for all field service and job files
• Demonstrates initiative and aims to exceed customer and company requirements
• Conducts follow up calls with customers to ensure satisfaction of work
