Job summary

Smiths Detection in the United States is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, service and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. This on-call role requires travel within Presidio, TX and nearby areas, with backup support for Del Rio, El Paso, and Eagle Pass.

The candidate will maintain field service logs, meet daily service needs, train customers as needed, and respond to emergency calls.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree/Trade Certification in electrical/electronic/mechanical fields or Military Training.
• Minimum 3 years troubleshooting and field repair experience.
• Excellent communication, customer focus and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, services, installs and repairs field equipment at customer sites.
• Responds to emergency and non-scheduled service calls within set timeframes.
• Maintains field service logs, documents inspections and repairs.
• Travels to Presidio, TX and nearby areas; trains customers as required.
