Job summary

Smiths Detection in the United States seeks a Field Service Technician to travel daily to locations in and around the Raleigh-Durham metro area, including the airport. You will troubleshoot, service, install and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites and maintain service logs.

Responsibilities include meeting daily repair needs, maintaining customer satisfaction, training customers as required, and coordinating with senior FSTs.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications and strong customer focus.
• Willing and able to travel to customer sites.
• Experience troubleshooting and field repair of electrical/electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, services, installs and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.
• Maintains field service log and paperwork; ensure timely completion.
• Provides customer training as required and follows up to ensure satisfaction.
• Responds to emergency/non-scheduled calls within response time goals.
• Manages parts orders, inventory and calibration of tools.
