Job summary

Smiths Detection seeks an experienced field service technician to service and support our Trace and X-Ray technologies at customer sites. You will install, repair, and maintain equipment, train customers, and respond to emergency service requests, while managing parts and tools inventory.

Applicants should have an Associate’s degree or related certification and 1–3 years in field service of electrical/electronic systems. Strong communication and travel willingness are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree/Trade Certification or Military Training; 1–3 years field service experience acceptable.
• Excellent communications skills and teamwork oriented; able to travel on short notice.
• Proficiency in MS Office; basic computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
• Respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls; meet response time goals.
• Document inspections, maintenance and repairs; submit paperwork timely.
• Order and manage parts; maintain inventory and calibration of tools.
• Provide technical support and participate in site surveys or special projects.
