Job summary

Smiths Detection, part of Smiths Group, is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel daily to locations in and around the Cleveland area, including the airport, to service Trace and X-Ray/Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree or related trade cert and 3+ years of field service experience.

Strong communication, customer service skills, and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related trade certification; 1–3 years field service experience.
• Excellent communications skills and strong customer focus with teamwork.
• Willing and able to travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, services, installs and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.
• Maintains field service logs and paperwork for completed work.
• Responds to emergencies, documents inspections, and supports service sales opportunities.
