Job summary

At IEM, a leading provider of electrical distribution systems, we seek a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and service support for IEM equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted field contact, collaborate with Project Managers and internal teams, and may mentor Level I technicians

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in switchgear start-up/commissioning required.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies, including panelboard interiors and wiring.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, Project Managers, and internal teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions for moderately complex issues.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and internal teams to resolve issues in the field.
• Accurately document service activities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and parts usage.
• Assist with training and mentoring Level I technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
