Job summary

IEM seeks a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and on-site service for complex power distribution equipment. You will diagnose issues, follow safety standards, document actions, and mentor Level I technicians in the field.

The role requires travel up to 75% and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with project teams to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems preferred.
• 1+ year experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Start-up, commissioning, testing, and repair of IEM equipment in field.
• Install and modify electrical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Analyze failures and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot circuits, wiring, and networking.
• Coordinate with PMs and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Document service activities, root causes, and actions.
• Provide training or mentoring for Level I technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
