Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, and service for IEM equipment in customer sites. You will troubleshoot moderately complex issues, document actions, and support Level I technicians in a fast-paced field environment.

Requires 1+ years in switchgear start-up/commissioning, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Travel up to 75% may be needed across regional sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution preferred.
• 1+ years supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• 1–3 years related electrical, mechanical, or field service experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, PMs, and internal teams.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with PMs, manufacturing, engineering, and support teams to resolve issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, actions, parts usage, and follow-up.
• Assist with training Level I technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
