Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) in Dallas, TX is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, and service for IEM equipment in the field.

You will diagnose and resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and serve as a trusted customer contact on site. You will coordinate with project managers, contractors, and internal teams, document actions and root causes, and help train Level I technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution or related field.
• 1+ years of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and safety aware.

Responsibilities

• Independently start-up, commission, test, troubleshoot, repair IEM equipment in the field.
• Install/modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, PMs, and internal teams.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, and follow-up items.
• Mentor Level I technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
