Job summary

Smiths Detection is a global leader in detection and screening technologies, with operations that require a field service engineer to travel daily to locations in and around the Hebron area, including the airport. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and customer training of Trace and X-Ray technologies.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in field service, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple sites with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or related trade certification; 1–3 years equivalent work experience acceptable in related field service role.
• Minimum of 3 years experience directly involved in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical/electronic systems and equipment.
• Excellent communications skills with strong customer focus and teamwork; travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs; submit paperwork timely.
• Order, install, and manage repair parts and cycle time.
• Review logs for open issues and prepare customer reports.
• Assist with service sales opportunities and revenue programs.
