Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to install, commission, test, and service sophisticated electrical equipment in the field. You’ll diagnose moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and act as a trusted field contact for customers.

You may mentor Level I staff and coordinate with Project Managers and internal teams. The role emphasizes strong diagnostic skills, attention to safety, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution preferred.
• 1+ years supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• 2+ years related electrical/technical experience preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Strong diagnostic and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service and repair.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors and internal teams.
• Analyze failures, identify root causes, determine corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot circuits, control wiring, and networking equipment.
• Document service activities, root cause analyses, and parts usage.
• Assist with training Level I technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
