Job summary

Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) is seeking a Field Service Technician Level II to perform start-up, commissioning, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and service support for IEM equipment.

This role requires strong diagnostic skills and the ability to resolve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision. You will be the trusted customer contact in the field, may mentor Level I technicians, and travel to customer sites to ensure on‑time project completion with adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Associate degree, vocational training, military experience, or equivalent experience in power distribution systems preferred.
• 1+ years of experience supporting switchgear start-up and commissioning.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of related electrical, mechanical, technical, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, or field service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform start-up, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, service, and repair of IEM equipment.
• Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies.
• Attend project meetings and support coordination with contractors, clients, Project Managers, and internal IEM teams.
• Analyze system failures, identify root causes, and determine corrective actions for moderately complex issues.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control wiring, and networking.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Document service activities, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and parts usage.
• Assist with training and mentoring Level I technicians.
