Job summary

Smiths Detection in Philadelphia is seeking a Level 1 Field Service Technician to service Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray and Cargo Inspection systems at customer sites. Travel to nearby locations is required and strong communication and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Responsibilities include repairs, installations, documenting work, and supporting service sales opportunities. A related degree or certification and 1–3 years field experience are expected, along with proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or related trade certification; 1–3 years field service experience acceptable.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork; willing to travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field; provide customer training as required.
• Document inspections, maintenance, repair work and submit paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order, install, and return parts and manage repair parts cycle time.
• Travel to locations in the Philadelphia Metro area as required.
