Job summary

Smiths Detection in the United States is seeking a skilled Depot Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and quality testing of Trace detection equipment and IMS components. You will support service operations across multiple regions and train technicians on Trace products including IS600.

Responsibilities include coordinating repairs, maintaining test equipment, and documenting procedures and failures to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required education: Secondary School Diploma.
Preferred: Post-secondary diploma or degree.
French language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and rework Trace units and IMS components to quality standards.
Coordinate IMS repair activities, including parts availability and priorities.
Monitor IMS room fixtures, test equipment, and gas levels; verify operation.
Provide technical support for IMS repairs across Smiths Detection U.S., TSA, European, and Asian service operations.
Train technicians on Trace products, including IS600 training and support.
Identify equipment failures and quality issues through advanced troubleshooting and testing.
Develop and improve service procedures with emphasis on QC testing and consistent repair practices.
Complete accurate service records and QA checklists in service systems.
Maintain IMS service inventory and coordinate parts availability.
Perform radiation leak testing and support Radiation Safety Officer.
