Job summary

Smiths Detection in the United States is seeking a skilled Depot Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and quality testing of Trace detection equipment and IMS components. You will support service operations across regions, learn new Trace products, and contribute to improving repair procedures and documentation.

You will handle inventory coordination, safety compliance, and data reporting, delivering training and technical support while maintaining accuracy in service records.

Qualifications

• Experience in a service or manufacturing environment.
• Experience repairing IMS units, drift tubes, subassemblies, and wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics.
• Strong manual dexterity with small, delicate components.
• Ability to document procedures and train technicians.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and rework Trace units and IMS components to meet quality standards.
• Coordinate IMS repair activities, including component availability and verification of repairs.
• Monitor IMS room fixtures, test equipment, and gas tank levels; verify proper operation.
• Provide technical support for IMS repair processes across US, TSA, EU, and APAC operations.
• Learn new Trace products and share knowledge with technicians; train for IS600.
