Job summary

Zund America, Inc., the US HQ for Zünd Systemtechnik AG, seeks a Field Service Technician I to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Zünd digital cutting systems across North America. You will provide on-site and remote support, document activity in Salesforce, and travel up to 80% with occasional international assignments.

Ideal candidates have technical schooling or related field service experience, strong mechanical/electrical/pneumatic skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Technical school education and/or one year of field service experience in a related industry is preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting abilities.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 80%.
• Self-motivated, reliable, honest, and capable of working independently.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM system is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of Zünd equipment at customer locations with minimal supervision.
• Provide timely, accurate telephone and remote technical support.
• Prepare and complete all service reports, warranty documentation, expense reports, and related administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
• Accurately document service activity and machine data in Salesforce CRM.
• Follow up on open service issues to ensure full resolution and proper documentation.
• Escalate complex technical issues quickly and effectively to internal support resources.
• Learn and become proficient in Zünd software and digital cutting system operations.
• Train customers on proper use of equipment and software, both on-site and remotely.
• Support trade shows, open houses, and in-house demonstrations, including occasional weekend travel.
