Job summary

Western States seeks a field service technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar heavy equipment at customer sites, in the shop, or in the field. You will interpret performance tests, determine repair scope, and perform repairs within time guidelines while upholding safety and professional standards.

Responsibilities include ordering parts, completing service reports, and communicating progress to customers. Travel may be required with overtime or overnight assignments.

• Conducts machine performance and diagnostic tests and decides repair extent.
• Repairs and diagnoses machine and attachment failures following TRG standards.
• Travels to customer sites and performs field or shop repairs, including overtime/night assignments.
• Completes service reports and paperwork daily on a laptop and submits them via email.
• Maintains safety and customer care standards on all sites.
