Job summary

IEM is seeking a Field Service Lead to manage a team of field service technicians and engineers at customer sites, overseeing start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical equipment.

This hands-on leadership role combines on-site work with team supervision, training, and coordination with project managers to ensure safe, timely completion across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems.
• Minimum of 2 years field service experience, with start-up/commissioning focus.
• Experience with switchgear and electrical distribution systems preferred.
• Familiarity with advanced communication protocols and networking concepts preferred.
• Prior supervisory or lead-level experience preferred.
• Understanding of LOTO procedures required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of field service technicians and engineers at customer sites.
• Coordinate start-up and commissioning activities, ensuring on-time completion and few open issues.
• Provide daily mentorship, training, and technical guidance to technicians.
• Serve as technical lead for product expertise and troubleshooting guidance.
• Travel to manufacturing or field facilities for training, tests, and shop activities.
• Identify risks and report them to management for action.
• Close-out punch lists and ensure paperwork deliverables are met.
• Coordinate with commercial and admin teams for scope-exceeding requests.
• Ensure tools, materials, and documentation are available at each site.
• Schedule additional field resources as needed and perform other duties.
