Job summary

Industrial Electric Manufacturing seeks a Field Service Lead to manage startup, commissioning, and maintenance activities for IEM products at customer sites. You will supervise ~8 technicians across 2–6 active sites, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

The role combines hands-on field responsibilities with leadership duties, including training, risk management, and collaboration with project teams. Travel up to 75% is required and a focus on safety and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in power distribution systems and related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of field service experience with startup/commissioning.
• Experience with switchgear, distribution systems, and control systems preferred.
• Familiarity with advanced communication protocols and networking concepts preferred.
• Prior supervisory/lead-level experience preferred.
• Understanding of lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup and commissioning activities across multiple customer sites.
• Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and training to technicians.
• Act as technical lead, offering product expertise and advanced troubleshooting guidance.
• Travel to manufacturing or field sites for training and testing.
• Identify risks affecting subordinate technicians and report to management.
• Close out jobs with punch lists and required documentation.
• Coordinate with commercial and admin teams for scope outside startup.
• Ensure technicians have tools, materials, and documentation needed.
• Report quality concerns and collaborate with production/engineering to address them.
• Schedule additional field resources with managers and project teams.
