The Field Systems Engineer (FSE) at bioMerieux is a field-based technical professional responsible for servicing instruments across California with national coverage as needed. The role emphasizes self-motivation, remote work, and overnight travel when required.

Core duties include installations, maintenance, and repairs; promoting service agreements; collaboration with Sales and Applications teams; and contributing to field service revenue via billable offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years troubleshooting electro-mechanical/electronic systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license in residence state.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Promote service agreements and identify sales opportunities.
• Drive field service revenue through billable offerings.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO.
• Travel for customer visits, with overnight stays as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation.
• Complete service work orders and QA checklists accurately.
• Maintain fleet vehicle and inventory per policy.
• Collaborate with sales and applications teams.
• Represent bioMerieux professionally at trade shows.
