Job summary

ITW’s Buehler division seeks a Field Service Technician to own after-sales service across the Northeastern United States. Traveling up to 70% and working remotely, you’ll support servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems, provide diagnostics, quotes, and calibrations, and ensure high customer satisfaction.

You will need an electronics/mechanical background, strong diagnostics, and excellent communication skills, with a valid driver’s license and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years of field-based experience in electronic instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated adherence to workplace safety standards and best practices.
• Strong diagnostic skills and ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
• Flexible and adaptable with strong organizational skills; willing to work outside normal business hours when needed.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Navision and Dynamics CRM is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Ability to travel within the United States up to 70% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support via telephone and ticketing system
• Perform routine preventative maintenance
• Troubleshooting and full diagnostics of mechanical & electrical system failures
• Provide formal service quotes to customers
• Conduct full system testing and calibrations after repairs
• Manage individual service cases regularly to meet departmental metrics and KPIs
• Manage travel schedule and expenses in line with ITW guidelines
• Support service growth with the region
