Amcor is transforming the packaging industry and improving lives through innovative, responsible packaging. The Field Service Engineer within the CTS group serves as the primary technical contact at customer locations, supporting filling lines, labeling, and automation.

This role blends hands-on field work with office collaboration and drives improvements through data-driven problem solving. Travel up to 75% to customer sites, perform preventative maintenance, installations, and training.

Qualifications

• A degree in Manufacturing or Engineering preferred.
• 2–5 years of combined education or related work experience is required.
• Travel requirements: 75% of the time.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are required.
• A general working knowledge of electrical systems is required.
• Prior mechanical experience with filling lines and equipment is preferred.
• Experience in the plastics industry is desired.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Power Point).
• Able to work independently with customers, plants and corporate groups using data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Amcor representative at customer sites, maintaining both customer-owned and Amcor-owned equipment and performing preventative maintenance.
• Lead in assembly and preventive maintenance of Amcor filling equipment.
• Investigate condition of customer-owned equipment and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Assist with customer problems and communicate opportunities to plant/corporate level.
• Support field trials of Amcor packaging.
• Train customer employees on proper product use and testing methods.
• Collect data and samples from suspect ware causing issues or out-of-spec products.
• Lead root cause investigations to resolve issues.
• Validate package performance at the customer's site.
• Coordinate with outside vendors on quotes, design and scheduling of projects.
• Complete trip reports documenting visits and outcomes.
