Job summary

Waters seeks an experienced field service engineer to service instrumentation across the Fredericksburg, VA region, supporting Maryland and surrounding areas. You will install, calibrate, and maintain high-end analytical instruments, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely service.

The role requires at least 3 years of instrument troubleshooting, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time. A technical degree and MS Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School diploma.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience troubleshooting instruments or components.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.
• Ability to travel a minimum of 50%.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with minimum direct supervision per ISO and GMP standards.
• Provide follow-up service by calling customers who have recently been provided service.
• Ensure service was complete and satisfactory to the customers' needs.
• Accurately maintain car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data.
• Complete service documentation as required by the position function or requested by System Support Engineering Manager in accordance with GMP requirements.
• Display maturity and judgment in time management and expense control.
• Maintain expense levels within the established guidelines for field service travel and sites visits.
• Report quality control and other technical problems to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager.
• Properly maintain and use company vehicle as outlined by fleet policy.
• Interface efficiently with other departments and managers to resolve customer problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
