Job summary

BD is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install and service instrumentation in the Fredericksburg, VA area, servicing MD, VA, WV and DC. Travel up to 50% is required; you will maintain equipment, complete documentation, and ensure service quality to BD standards.

This role emphasizes onsite collaboration, adherence to ISO/GMP, and a strong customer service focus. Minimally a high school diploma with 3+ years of instrument troubleshooting is expected; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience troubleshooting instruments or components.
• Valid state driver’s license and BD auto safety standards.
• Ability to travel ~50% or more.

Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with minimal supervision per ISO and GMP standards.
• Provide follow-up service calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain car stock, test equipment and technical data.
• Complete service documentation per GMP requirements.
• Report quality issues to Service Center and Manager.
• Interface with departments to resolve customer problems.
