Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer to service BD Advanced Diagnostics instruments in the Kansas City area, with national travel as needed. The role requires a self‑starter who can work remotely with minimal supervision and overnight travel when necessary.

You will install, maintain, upgrade and repair laboratory systems (BD COR, KiestrA, Microbiology, Molecular, LC/MS), travel up to 50% of the time, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, or 10+ years of relevant repair/troubleshooting experience.
Strong electronics, electro-mechanical devices, PLCs, and pneumatics knowledge.
Intermediate networking architecture design and setup experience.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair BD instruments to meet specifications.
Collaborate with service and support teams to drive field service revenue.
Communicate work performed and provide follow-up plans to customers.
Schedule and complete system upgrades in coordination with customers.
Document all customer issues in proper systems of record for resolution.
