Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer to support Advanced Diagnostics customers in the KC area and nationwide. The role requires hands-on servicing of complex lab instruments, strong electronics and PLC knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Degree or substantial relevant experience in engineering, electronics or related field.
• Strong electronics, electro-mechanical knowledge and PLCs.
• Networking and computer OS upgrade experience with IT liaison skills.
• Valid driver's license, willingness to travel up to 50% and be on call.
• Must meet BD safety and PPE standards; lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade and repair BD instruments at customer sites.
• Collaborate with service teams to grow field service revenue.
• Communicate work performed and arrange follow-up actions with customers.
• Schedule system upgrades and document all interactions.
• Maintain inventory, tools and equipment; manage expenses per policy.
• Travel for on-site support and potential national assignments; participate in on-call rotation.
• Complete vendor credentialing and meet Real ID requirements.
