Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer to service Advanced Diagnostics instruments at customer sites across the assigned territory, with travel required and overnight stays possible. You will perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.

The role requires strong electro‑mechanical skills, PLCs, and networking knowledge, plus the ability to communicate clearly and document issues throughout the service lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related fields OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of electronics, electro‑mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and setup.
• Intermediate understanding of computer software operating systems and ability to coordinate with IT for upgrades.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be available to travel up to 50% and be on call.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade and repair BD instruments to meet specifications.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Communicate work performed and provide follow‑up plans to customers.
• Schedule and complete system upgrades with customers.
• Document all customer complaints in the systems of record.
