Job summary

Southwest Surgical, LLC, a ZEISS distributor, seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, repair, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex automated electromechanical systems across the Southwestern United States, including travel.

You will work closely with customers, sales, ZEISS support, and management, complete preventive maintenance, document work, and pursue ongoing training to stay current with ZEISS equipment and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or technical certificate in technical/scientific discipline or related military electronics experience
• 3-5 years of professional work experience with automated electromechanical systems
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics
• Knowledge of Windows environments and basic office apps

Responsibilities

• Provide industry-leading installation services for new equipment with attention to detail and high system performance
• Independently troubleshoot and diagnose issues to enable same-visit repairs when possible
• Document and quote issues within 24 hours of service
• Complete preventive maintenance for contract customers within 90 days of SVO assignment
• Escalate unresolved issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction
• Educate customers on upgrades and accessories and pass leads to appropriate channels
• Travel domestically and internationally for training and service
• Adhere to lab safety and customer site protocols
