Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Field Service Engineer Level 2 to install, maintain, and repair complex automated systems at customer sites across the region. You will troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver high-quality service with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a 4-year degree or technical certificate, 3+ years of experience, and the ability to travel frequently.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or technical certificate in technical/scientific discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience.
• Knowledge of Lab safety requirements for BSL 1–3 environments and handling level 3 biohazards.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems across software, electronics, optics, HV, vacuum and mechanical systems.
• Windows operating environments knowledge; familiarity with databases or CRM systems is a plus.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation services for new equipment with high attention to detail and professional hand-off to the customer.
• Independently troubleshoot and diagnose issues to enable same-visit repairs.
• Confirm all service orders within 24 hours after completion.
• Prepare billable quotations within 24 hours.
• Complete PMs for contract customers within 90 days of service order assignment.
• Escalate unresolved issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Educate customers on upgrades and accessories to enhance capabilities.
• Connect systems to ZEISS Predictive Service network.
• Perform site or system environmental analysis tests as assigned.
• Train customers on basic system operation and maintenance.
• Care for ZEISS tools and assets; return spares within 1 week and manage stock on memo.
• Complete required technical training and pursue ongoing development.
• Maintain safety and uphold ZEISS values.
