Job summary

Honeywell in Albany, NY is seeking a Field Service Engineer II - Process Instrumentation & Control Systems. The role performs commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of process instrumentation and control systems at customer sites on a hybrid schedule from Albany with heavy travel.

You will support PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms, read schematics, and collaborate with project teams to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of field service, instrumentation, automation, or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of process instrumentation and field devices.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA systems in industrial environments.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical docs.
• Willingness to travel 75–95% to customer sites.
• Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, calibrate, repair and maintain process instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnose complex issues with field instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, HMIs, and networks.
• Configure and validate devices to specs and standards.
• Perform loop checks, functional testing, and startups during projects.
• Provide technical guidance and training to customers and site personnel.
• Prepare service reports, calibration records, and commissioning docs.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on site.
