Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Servicer Engineer in Burlington, NC to service advanced diagnostic instruments. The role requires electrical/mechatronic expertise, PCB/PLC knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline OR 10+ years of relevant troubleshooting/repair experience.
• Understanding of electronics, mechatronics, PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate networking knowledge and ability to coordinate software upgrades with IT.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Communicate work performed and provide follow-up plans to customers.
• Collaborate with customers to schedule system upgrades and ensure timely completion.
• Document all customer issues in systems for resolution and traceability.
• Maintain inventory, vehicle, and tools in good condition per policy.
• Participate in on-call rotations and occasional national travel.
