Job summary

BD is seeking an Automation Service Engineer to service Advanced Diagnostics customers across the U.S. and beyond. The role requires strong electronics, mechatronics, and PLC knowledge, with significant travel and on-call duties.

You will install, maintain, and upgrade complex instruments, while ensuring reliability and adherence to safety standards. The position demands a self-starter, remote work capability, and excellent customer interaction skills to drive service excellence and revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics.
• Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and set up.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and work flexible hours.
• Must lift up to 70 lbs and adhere to PPE standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and repair BD instruments to meet specifications.
• Drive field service revenue through preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Lead customer communications and provide follow up plan when needed.
• Collaborate with customers to schedule and complete system upgrades.
• Document all customer complaints and resolutions in the systems.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and company equipment in good condition.
• Participate in on-call rotations and travel as required.
• Adhere to BD credentialing requirements and safety standards.
