Job summary

Southwest Surgical, LLC seeks a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, repair, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex automated electromechanical systems at customer sites in the Southwest region and beyond. You will support contract customers, complete preventive maintenance, and coordinate with ZEISS support and sales management.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or technical certificate in technical/scientific discipline, related military electronics experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• ~3-5 years of professional work experience.
• ~ Sound knowledge and understanding of Laboratory Safety requirements for BSL 1, 2, and 3 environments; ability to troubleshoot software, electronics, optics and electro-mechanical systems.
• ~ Familiarity with Windows, word processing, and email; CRM systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide installation services for new equipment with attention to system performance and professional hand-off to customer.
• Independently troubleshoot and diagnose issues to complete repair on first visit.
• Document service visits within 24 hours and manage spare parts usage.
• Complete preventive maintenance for contract customers within 90 days of SVO assignment.
• Escalate unresolved issues to ensure rapid resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Educate customers on upgrades and pass leads to appropriate channels.
• Train customers on operation and maintenance per guidelines.
