Job summary

ZEISS Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer Level 2 to install, service and maintain complex automated systems in the Michigan/Northern Ohio/Indiana region. You will troubleshoot issues, perform PMs, and educate customers on upgrades while supporting contract customers.

Travel up to 50-70% domestically and internationally may be required. Requires a 4-year degree or technical certificate and 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or technical certificate in technical/scientific discipline or related experience
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in related field
• Knowledge of laboratory safety in BSL environments and specimen handling
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and diagnose issues
• Valid U.S. driver license and ability to drive company vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide installation services for new equipment and ensure proper hand-off to customers
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to complete repairs in a single visit
• Complete preventive maintenance for contract customers within 90 days
• Escalate unresolved issues through the proper channels to ensure customer satisfaction
• Educate customers on upgrades and parts, connect systems to ZEISS Predictive Service
• Travel domestically and internationally as required
