Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the Denver region and Southwest United States. The role involves installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of complex automated electromechanical systems at customer sites.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or technical certificate in technical/scientific discipline, related military electronics experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 3–5 years of professional work experience.
• Sound knowledge of Laboratory Safety requirements for BSL 1–3 environments and handling of Level 3 pathogens.
• Ability to understand and troubleshoot problems

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, diagnose and troubleshoot complex automated electromechanical systems.
• Provide industry-leading installation services for new equipment with attention to detail and high system performance.
• Independently troubleshoot and diagnose issues quickly so repairs occur in a single visit.
• Complete service visit operations (SVOs) and documentation within required timeframes.
• Prepare detailed issue descriptions for billable quotations within 24 hours.
• Complete preventive maintenance for contract customers within 90 days of SVO assignment.
• Escalate unresolved issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and rapid resolution.
• Educate customers on upgrades and accessories to improve capabilities.
• Train customers on basic system operation and maintenance.
• Maintain ZEISS tools and assets and complete required technical training.
