Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive sales and grow the customer base in our designated territory. You will visit customer sites, promote products, and manage accounts, with an emphasis on meeting gross margin targets.

The role requires extensive travel, a minimum of 3 years in the industry (4+ preferred), and a 4-year degree is preferred. You will report market trends to management and participate in events to showcase products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience; 4+ years preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing; strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites regularly to develop new prospects and maintain relationships.
• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budgets by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed; recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and reports of business transactions; assist in collecting past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings; demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
