A Townsend Building Supply, a division of Carter Lumber, seeks an Outside Sales Representative to identify sales opportunities and close deals with local contractors in Prattville, AL. You will visit job sites, make calls, and provide product knowledge to drive sales and profitability.

Responsibilities include building targets, following up on leads, coordinating deliveries, reading blueprints, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience selling building materials to contractors.
• Knowledge of the building materials industry.
• Proven ability to increase sales and profitability.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand construction practices.
• Ability to participate effectively as a team member.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Building identified target customers, increasing market share.
• Collecting and maintaining information on customers’ product use and trends.
• Selling building materials and installed sales services to contractors.
• Determining appropriate credit programs based on customer needs.
• Meeting/exceeding sales and profit goals by following leads and market trends.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction with scheduling and delivery commitments.
• Keeping lines of communication open between store team and customers.
• Identifying growth needs and completing safety training.
